Edge of Tomorrow

Rated PG-13 / 1 hr 53 min / Action - Sci-Fi

What is it about?

Tom Cruise is a press consultant for the military. He helps to sell the war against the invading aliens. He is then told that he must cover the assault on the enemy from the front lines. When he refuses, he is labeled a deserter. He finds himself in handcuffs with the invasion force. He is forced to join them for the attack. The attack is a disaster. Cruise manages to kill one of the alpha aliens before he dies. The alien's blood gives him the power to reset the day, and he is able to come back to the same point in time when he dies. He uses this power to try to fight back.

You will like it if...

You like sci-fi action movies. The thought of the alien's blood giving Tom Cruise's character these fantastic powers is a bit rediculous. If you can get past that without having a stroke then the rest of the movie is quite entertaining. The special effects are well done. The aliens are speedy and lethal looking. Emily Blunt is a great choice for the female lead in the movie. She steals several scenes from Cruise. The ending is a bit predictable, but that doesn't ruin it. If you have any interest in seeing this movie I would recommend that you do.
