What is it about?
This movie takes place several years after the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The virus that had given the apes their intelligence is now spreading through humans, but it kills them. There are a few humans that are genetically immune to the virus. They band together across a bridge from the apes who have built a city of their own. The humans are running out of fuel to run their generators, and need an alternate energy source to keep the lights on. There is a hydroelectric dam nearby, but it's near the city of apes. The apes want nothing to do with the humans. If the humans run out of power then they are going to attack.
You will like it if...
You liked the previous Planet of the Apes movie. This time around Ceasar is all grown up and has children of his own. The threat of war between the two factions provides tension throughout the movie. The most impressive thing about this series is the way they have made the story seem so realistic. The CGI animation has been upgraded, and the emotions the apes show seem real. The movie is so well made that you don't notice the all too common occurance of actors not focusing on the CGI animated characters. The movie isn't perfect. There are some issues with the plot, and the storyline borrows heavily from previous Planet of the Apes movies. I think this is the best in the series, but there is still room for improvement.
